Privacy policy

1. Privacy at a glance

The following notes give a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website. Personal data is any data that can be used to identify you personally.

The website operator is responsible for data processing. Contact details are in the legal notice.

Data is collected when you provide it to us, for example in the contact form. Other data is collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website, mainly technical data (e.g. browser, operating system or time of the page view).

Some data is collected to ensure the website is delivered without errors. Further data may be used to analyse your usage behaviour, but only with your consent.

You have the right at any time to receive information free of charge about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data, and to request its correction, blocking or deletion. To do so, contact us at the address given in the legal notice. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

2. General information and mandatory details

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and treat it confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. Please note that data transmission over the internet (e.g. email communication) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Withdrawing your consent: Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by sending us an informal email or by changing your choice under “Cookies & privacy” in the footer. Processing that took place before the withdrawal remains lawful.

Right to lodge a complaint: In case of data protection violations, data subjects may complain to the competent supervisory authority, which is the state data protection commissioner of the German state where our company is based. A list is available at https://www.bfdi.bund.de/DE/Infothek/Anschriften_Links/anschriften_links-node.html.

Data portability: You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or to fulfil a contract handed over to you or a third party in a common, machine-readable format. Direct transfer to another controller takes place only where technically feasible.

SSL/TLS encryption: For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content such as enquiries you send us, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in the browser address bar and the lock symbol.

Access, blocking, deletion: Within the applicable statutory provisions you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, the purpose of processing and, where applicable, a right to correction, blocking or deletion.

Objection to advertising emails: We hereby object to the use of contact details published in the legal notice for sending unsolicited advertising and information material. The operators expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising, for example spam emails.

3. Data collection on our website

Cookies: Our pages partly use cookies or similar storage technologies. They do not harm your computer and contain no viruses. Storing your privacy choice in the browser (180 days) is technically necessary; the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Optional analytics cookies are only set with your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can set your browser to notify you about cookies and to allow them only in individual cases or exclude them generally. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

Server log files: The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser transmits to us:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

These data are not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, which permits processing for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

Contact form: If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the form, including the contact data you provide, are stored by us to process your enquiry and for any follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent. Processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time by sending us an informal email. The data you enter in the contact form remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent, or the purpose for storage lapses (e.g. after your enquiry has been dealt with). Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular retention periods, remain unaffected.

4. Analytics and advertising tools

Optional usage statistics with Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics and advertising measurement with Google Ads are used only if you consent in the cookie dialog. We use Google Consent Mode: without consent, the Google tag is not loaded. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via “Cookies & privacy” in the footer.

Google Analytics: Provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, or for users outside the EEA Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses cookies that allow an analysis of website use. The information generated is generally transmitted to a Google server and stored there, possibly also in the USA. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses. We also use Google Signals: for visitors who are signed in to their Google account and have allowed personalised advertising, Google links usage data across devices and provides us with aggregated reports. Data is retained for 14 months. You can additionally prevent collection with the browser plugin at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. More information: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.

Google Ads: Provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. With your consent, we use the Google tag to measure whether visitors contact us after clicking one of our ads (conversion tracking), and may later show relevant ads to visitors of this website (remarketing). Advertising cookies are set and data is transmitted to Google, possibly also to the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Contact form content is not transmitted. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). More information: https://business.safety.google/privacy/.

Vercel Web Analytics: Provider is Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. The Web Analytics and Speed Insights services record page views, visitor statistics, contact enquiries as events and page loading times, without cookies. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). The hosting required to operate the website is independent of this.

5. Plugins and tools

Videos and fonts are hosted locally, without external providers. Our website may contain links to external sites such as YouTube or WhatsApp. A connection to the provider’s servers is only established when you click such a link, and the provider then processes your data under its own privacy policy. With YouTube (YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA), the server learns which of our pages you visited; if you are logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your browsing behaviour to your profile. You can prevent this by logging out. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
